About the event
Join the Aged Care Faculty for an open and engaging discussion about the upcoming changes to the Aged Care Act and what they will mean for nurses working in the aged care sector.
From 1 July 2025, Australia’s aged care system will undergo its most significant transformation in decades. The new Aged Care Act will introduce wide-reaching reforms that will fundamentally change how aged care is delivered, regulated, and funded. With stricter quality standards, mandatory staffing ratios, enhanced rights for aged care recipients, and increased oversight, the sector is preparing for a major shift.
For nurses, these reforms bring both opportunities and challenges. While there’s the promise of improved working conditions, stronger recognition of nursing expertise, and increased support for professional development, there’s also the reality of adapting to new systems, meeting more rigorous documentation and compliance requirements, and navigating an evolving scope of practice.
This webinar will be a chance to connect, reflect, and discuss how these changes may impact you and your colleagues.
Together, we’ll explore:
-
What’s changing and why it matters
-
The potential impacts on day-to-day nursing practice
-
How nurses can prepare for and influence this transition
-
Concerns, questions, and insights from across the sector
Whether you’re curious, concerned, or excited about the reforms ahead, this is an opportunity to join the conversation and hear from others in the aged care nursing community as we navigate this new chapter—together.
