Healthy Ageing COI with special guest Dr Samantha Jakimowicz

All Fellows, Members and non-members are warmly invited to come along and meet the full Leadership Team of the Healthy Ageing Community of Interest, one of ACN's largest COIs.

Attendees will have the opportunity to put forth CPD ideas, contribute to the discussion, and learn about the future plans of the Healthy Ageing Leadership Team. This opportunity is particularly important given the recent findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

Attendees will also hear from special guest Dr Samantha Jakimowicz MACN, Sydney Region Deputy Chair, who will give a presentation on improving and maintaining your wellbeing.

Special guest bio:
Dr Samantha Jakimowicz MACN - Senior Lecturer, University of Technology Sydney
Samantha joined University of Technology Sydney on a full-time academic basis in 2017 bringing with her experience as a critical care Registered Nurse, psychotherapist and clinical researcher. The philosophy underpinning her teaching and research activities originates from psychologist, Carl Rogers: unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence. Using this philosophy, Samantha has made a significant contribution to the profession in nursing and overall healthcare professional wellbeing through education and research. Samantha is the Chair of the Faculty of Health Low Risk Ethics Panel, and School of Nursing and Midwifery's Honours Coordinator.
