About the event

Join us for an insightful webinar as we discuss some of the alternate career pathways for nurses. Don’t miss your opportunity to learn more about nursing roles in a variety of areas including academia, research, education, quality improvement and policy. We will hear from Dr Benjamin Hay, a senior lecturer in the school of nursing and midwifery at the University of Notre Dame Fremantle. Benjamin will discuss his nursing journey through varied clinical, non-clinical and academic roles. In the second half of the webinar, we will connect with Jing (Cherry) Ning, a Senior Policy Officer within the North Metropolitan Health Service. She will share her experiences working as a research nurse in the ICU and her transition into her current role. Hosted by the WA Region of the Australian College of Nursing, this webinar promises to inspire and empower nursing professionals across the WA region. Join us to learn more about the alternate opportunities and career pathways in nursing.

About the speakers

 

Dr Benjamin Hay MACN - Senior Lecturer at University of Notre Dame Fremantle

Benjamin is an award-winning academic for both teaching and innovation in education. Within his role, he enjoys mentoring staff and students to encourage excellence in learning, teaching, and research scholarship.

Jing (Cherry) Ning MACN - Senior Policy Officer in the Consumer Experience and Clinical Excellence directorate, North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS)

Cherry has a keen interest in safety and quality in health care and is a strong advocate for patient and staff safety. Cherry also enjoys mentoring and empowering others. Her research interests include patient- and family-centred Care (PFCC) in ICU, psychological safety and wellbeing at workplace, situation awareness and patient safety, knowledge translation and policy capability.
