Career Pathways in Nursing Informatics
This webinar, hosted by the Nurse Informatics COI, will hear from five nurses working in the informatics space on their careers. Learn from leaders in nursing informatics about how they got to their roles.
The webinar will be presented by five leaders in the field, with each speaker giving a 10min presentation. the speakers have been chosen to represent the broad range of roles that are available themselves in nurse informatics.

Speaker bios:
Ruth De Suza FACN
Ruth is currently a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at RMIT University, based in the School of Art and Design and Creative Practice Enabling Capability Platform. She is a nurse, academic and community engaged researcher in gender, race, health and digital technologies. Prior to coming to RMIT, Ruth was the academic co-convenor of the The Data, Systems and Society Research Network (DSSRN), a collaborative research network across the University of Melbourne. Ruth’s research work in progress includes: whether health technologies provide an opportunity for addressing health inequalities; a critical health agenda around the intersections of race, class, gender, neoliberalism and health technology; examining how wearable health technologies can enhance consumer participation agendas (eg through co-design and shared decision making), and the implications of new health information technologies for the health care workforce
Zara Lord MACN
Zara Lord is an 8th year intensive care nurse and founder of the tech startup, uPaged. Zara has harnessed technology, her deep industry knowledge and experience, her techno-commercial acumen, and a passion for creating value, to build a healthcare-specific digital platform that is the first of its kind.
Andrew Ingersoll MACN
Andrew Ingersoll is the inaugural Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) for South Western Sydney Local Health District, and a valued member of the Chief Nursing Informatic Officers COI.
Rebecca Jedwab MACN
Rebecca Jedwab is a Critical Care Registered Nurse working in Monash
Health’s Nursing Informatics team and is a PhD Candidate at Deakin University’s
School of Nursing and Midwifery. She is currently completing her PhD study on
nurses’ motivation, engagement and well-being before and after an electronic
medical record system implementation. She has two degrees from Monash
University (Bachelor of Science 2009 and Master of Nursing Practice 2011) and a
Master of Nursing Practice (Critical Care – Cardiac Care) degree from Deakin
University (2017). She has worked as a Critical Care Registered Nurse
specialising in cardiothoracics, has taught and worked in nursing research and
has co-supervised 4 nursing Honours students. She is a member or affiliate
member of 13 Australian and international professional nursing and cardiac
associations, including two international Honours Societies.
Anthony Pham
Anthony Pham is Monash Health’s Nursing and Midwifery Informatics Analyst with a Masters of Nursing (Critical Care) and Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA) credential. Anthony has led and managed the Subject Matter Experts and overseen the computing device requirements ensuring digital workflow development for the electronic medical record system implementation.
