Stepping into Leadership – The Journey Begins

Stepping into Leadership is the ideal program for nurses wanting to step into leadership roles. Inside this one-day format you will examine leadership theories and models, learn the importance of communication and team work, and expand your emotional intelligence and self-care practices to ensure you remain protected from stressors and chaos of the dynamic health care environment. This is a fun and interactive day that provides you the opportunity to share and learn from the experiences and knowledge of others.

Biography

Sue Ralston has joined ACN having worked for over twenty five years in the public and private health sectors. Sue has held positions in management and education at local, state and national levels, including both acute and sub-acute clinical health areas.

Sue has been part of significant changes in management and education over her working time having been involved in various modes of delivering education and subsequently assessing students’ work and learned behaviours at all levels of post-school education, especially relating to computers and the use of technology in face-to-face arenas, distance education, on line learning and webinars. Change management and the emergence of the types of leadership has also influenced the way in which she has developed her leadership style. Sue now facilitates session including building great teams, knowing your learning and communication styles and effective leadership.

True to her belief in education and following her commitment to both personal and professional development, Sue has completed two Masters degrees as well as several post graduate courses.
