AI is already reshaping healthcare - but what does it actually mean for nursing? Hosted by the ACN Nurse Informatics & Digital Health Faculty's AI Special Interest Group, this practical, plain-language session is designed for nurses at every level of AI exposure. We'll unpack what AI is (and isn't), bust common myths, and showcase real examples of AI in use across clinical, aged-care and virtual-care settings - from ambient listening to documentation support. You'll also hear from nurses working in emerging AI roles, including AI Officer and CNIO perspectives, and learn how the SIG is leading safe, nurse-led AI integration nationally. No tech background needed - just clinical curiosity.

- Describe what AI is - and isn't - in a nursing context, and separate fact from myth.
- Recognise practical, real-world applications of AI across clinical, education and aged-care settings.
- Identify the guardrails - safety, ethics and governance - around nursing use of AI, and the emerging roles nurses can play in leading it.

Guillaume Leroux-Legrand is the AI Officer at Flinders Medical Centre, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, where he works on AI governance and assessment frameworks for safe clinical adoption
Antonela Vogranic MACN - Chief Nursing Information Officer, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
Antonela Vogranic is Chief Nursing Information Officer at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where she developed the site's two-year AI readiness strategy and serves on Peter Mac and Parkville precinct AI working groups. Her nursing team was among the first globally to trial Epic's ambient listening tool in ambulatory care, and she brings practical frontline perspectives on AI implementation and governance

Zara Lord is a critical care RN and the CEO & Founder of HealthTech platform uPaged, a healthcare-specific digital workforce marketplace that connects clinicians with work opportunities. She is also the Deputy Chair of the Australian College of Nursing, Nurse Informatics and Digital Health Faculty and the recipient of the 2021 Telstra Health Brilliant Women in Digital Health Award.

Amanda Graf is Chair of the ACN Leadership Faculty and a Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University.
Lee Lavender MACN
Lee Lavender is a Clinical Learning Facilitator at Regis Aged Care and sessional academic at Victoria University, currently undertaking a PhD in policy. Lee's work centres on the ethical implementation of AI and robotics in aged and dementia care, including AI documentation and activity-scheduling tools developed in-house at Regis.
