Who should attend        

This course is suitable for health practitioners who administer immunisations or care for patients receiving immunisation.

Key learning outcomes 

On completion, participants will be able to:

• Discuss the national and state/territory policies and procedures for documenting and reporting adverse events following immunisation (AEFI), and the future recommendations for clients who have experienced AEFI

• Differentiate between vasovagal episodes and anaphylaxis following immunisation, and their management

• Demonstrate the requirements for preparing for a prospective adverse event prior to immunisations

• Demonstrate requirements for administering adrenaline in the event of a person developing an anaphylactic reaction after vaccination

 

This course is presented by leading nurse educators from the Australian College of Nursing in Parramatta. Working closely with industry partners our educators will ensure you are updated with current evidence-based knowledge and standards to maintain a high level of competency.
