Presented by the Disaster Health COI, the webinar will hear from world renowned emergency health researcher Dr Jamie Ranse FACN and Emerging Nurse Leader Louise Lommerse MACN, who will each give a presentation covering different perspectives of disaster nursing. Drawing upon her own personal experience working with a disaster organisation, Louise Lommerse's presentation will cover: • How to get started as a volunteer in disaster situations • The different training options available – ie TAFE to University Dr Jamie Ranse's presentation will: • Outline the realities of being a nurse in a disaster • Discuss the education-practice mismatch in disaster nursing • Discuss challenges in disaster nursing
