Maria Hobbs MACN Maria is a Registered Nurse of 15 years with a background in General Medical, Aged Care and Rural & Remote Nursing. She has worked in the ACT, NSW, VIC and extensively within QLD gaining familiarity with the challenges and inequities in healthcare faced by regional Australians. She is a strong advocate for nurse wellbeing and safety and works with the ACN Nurses & Violence Taskforce, as well as the Regulation in Nursing Faculty. She currently work as a Practice Educator at the University of Queensland supporting students navigating study and placements in the era of COVID-19. Tanya Vogt Tanya Vogt was appointed the Executive Officer of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia in July 2014. She has been working in the area of health practitioner regulation in Australia since 2007 and been directly involved in the development of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme in Australia. Tanya has qualifications in nursing and law and has practised in both areas. The combination of these qualifications has provided a solid foundation for her roles in health practitioner regulation and especially in the role of Executive Officer for the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Veronica Casey FACN Veronica Casey, is currently the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Metro South Health Brisbane Queensland and the Chair, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. “After more than 40 years as a nurse I still believe and feel it is such a privilege to part of a person’s health journey. I see the future as very bright. I know it has been such a different time in the last 15 months given the context in which we work and practice. I see nurses leading innovation and practice changes to improve systems and care."
