This module explains the principles of palliative care and end-of-life care. Although palliative and end-of-life care are related concepts, they are not synonymous. They both focus on improving the quality of life for individuals facing serious life-limiting illnesses. However, they have different focuses and goals. Therefore, it is important to have a thorough understanding of how to care for an older person as they approach the end of life.
