Providing immunisations within the primary care setting as well as in an emergency department setting is an important component of maintaining individual immunity within the community. Opportunistic vaccination is important and should be undertaken at every opportunity.Knowing when to administer a Tetanus vaccine can perhaps be complex at times especially if you are unable to find the appropriate immunisation documentation or if the individual is unable to give an accurate immunisation history. This CPD module offers information on how to overcome these hurdles, especially in an emergency department setting. For some, this may be a refresher in relation to what tetanus is and the importance of looking out for signs and symptoms of this vaccine preventable disease.
