Vaccination for People at Occupational Risk

_

Vaccinations for the various occupational groups is essential as some of these workers, for example, healthcare workers and carers, work with vulnerable people, e.g., people =65 years of age, children and people who are immunocompromised. If these workers are unvaccinated against certain infections like influenza and pertussis, they may spread infections to these vulnerable people or they may even contract these diseases from possible exposure to the infection. Therefore it is highly recommended and advised that people at occupation risk for vaccine-preventable diseases get vaccinated as per their employment requirements as well as per the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommendations.
