Introduction to Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs

Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use are significant global issues that affect individuals, families, and communities. They are associated with significant morbidity and mortality and contribute to health problems, social issues, and economic costs. In this module, you will learn about different classes of drugs and addiction, understand the nature of addictive disorders, including stigma and discrimination as barriers to accessing help. You will also explore guiding principles for AoD services, different treatment options and principles of harm minimisation.
