Mentoring and precepting in nursing offer many mutual benefits. They provide an opportunity to share your knowledge, skills, and clinical experience with colleagues while supporting their professional development. In return, the role can be personally and professionally rewarding. However, these roles require clear boundaries so both parties respect each other’s time, roles, and expectations. When boundaries are crossed, it can create discomfort and strain the relationship. This course will help you understand how to set clear boundaries in nursing mentoring and preceptor relationships and why they are essential for a successful outcome.
