Understanding the past is critical to shaping a more equitable future in healthcare. In this webinar, we explore how historical knowledge, truth telling, and culturally informed approaches can transform clinical practice and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Grounded in place and practice, this session will highlight how embedding culturally safe care models into everyday health services can strengthen trust, relationships, and patient experiences. Drawing on doctoral research conducted within the Shoalhaven Hospital Group, our speaker will share insights into the powerful role of history in informing contemporary nursing and midwifery care, and how acknowledging and responding to historical contexts can drive meaningful change across healthcare settings.
