Many older people in aged care take several medicines at once, and their bodies respond to those medicines differently from younger adults. This course helps you give medicines safely and notice problems before they cause harm. You will learn how ageing changes the way medicines work, how to manage high-risk medicines such as insulin, opioids, anticoagulants and psychotropics, and when to ask for a medication review. You will also learn what to do when a medication incident happens and how the multidisciplinary team works together to keep residents safe.
To complete this course, you must watch the video. You may return to this page at any time to continue watching the video, however you will need to remember where you left off so you can find that place again when you visit next.
To show that you have completed this course, you must tick the box to show you have completed and then click Submit. This will then be closed and marked as completed.
