Tetanus is a serious but preventable disease caused by Clostridium tetani, a bacterium commonly found in soil and the environment. While vaccination has significantly reduced the incidence of tetanus in Australia, maintaining up-to-date immunisation remains essential, particularly for people at increased risk of exposure through wounds and injuries. By completing this module, participants will enhance their knowledge and confidence in applying current tetanus vaccination recommendations to support effective prevention of this potentially life-threatening disease.
