Professional Practice Course 2026
The aim of this course is to familiarise nurses and midwives with their professional practice responsibilities and registration requirements, including the codes and standards that govern and regulate practice. This course is tailored specifically to the scope of practice of enrolled nurses (EN), registered nurses (RN), nurse practitioners (NP), and midwives (M).

Course Overview
This eight-hour course is conducted fully online through guided study and online activities. Themes covered in this course include:
• National Standards and their relationship to professional performance, safe delivery of care and scope of practice
• Professional conduct, including ethical dilemmas, consent, boundaries and duty of care
• Principles of holistic assessment, including psychological, social and spiritual
• Recognition and escalation of care, including communication and documentation.
