About the event

This webinar celebrates Nurses in the Community Week by showcasing the diverse and evolving roles nurses play across community-based healthcare. Speakers with experience in community aged care, Advance Care Planning, wound care, antimicrobial stewardship and men’s health will share practical insights from their respective areas of practice. The session will highlight how nurses support person-centred care, health education, clinical decision-making and continuity of care across different community settings, while demonstrating the breadth of opportunities available within community nursing.

About the speakers 

Inka Patel – Registered Nurse, SydWest Multicultural Services

Inka Patel is a Registered Nurse with 11 years of clinical experience across hospital, residential aged care and community aged care settings. She has experience working within Home Care Package (HCP) and Support at Home (SaH) services as both a Registered Nurse and Clinical Care Manager.Throughout her career, Inka has developed experience in clinical assessments, care planning, care coordination, risk management and supporting clients with complex care needs. She works closely with clients, families, care workers, GPs and allied health professionals to provide safe and person-centred care.

Her community nursing experience has developed a strong interest in culturally safe care and Advance Care Planning, particularly for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. She is passionate about supporting clients to understand their healthcare choices and communicate their wishes in their preferred language while respecting their culture, values and individual preferences.

Lenice Scott – Enrolled Nurse | Clinical Educator | Chair, ACN Enrolled Nurse Faculty



Lenice Scott is an Enrolled Nurse, clinical educator and passionate advocate for high-quality, patient-centred care, with more than 30 years of nursing experience across acute care, general practice, wound management and education. Lenice currently works in general practice, where she has a particular interest in wound management, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship and supporting patients with complex and chronic health needs. She also works as a Clinical Support Educator in wound care and delivers first aid and clinical education across a range of healthcare and community settings.

As Chair of the Australian College of Nursing Enrolled Nurse Faculty, Lenice has a strong interest in practical, evidence-based education that gives nurses the confidence to translate best practice into everyday patient care.

Topic: Antimicrobial Stewardship in Wound Care

Lenice will provide a practical look at antimicrobial stewardship in wound care, including when a wound swab is indicated, how to collect a quality specimen using the Levine technique, and the important role nurses play in recognising wound infection and supporting appropriate antimicrobial use.

Roxi Bassiray – Registered Nurse and Midwife | Men’s Health Nurse Specialist



Roxi Bassiray qualified with a double degree in Nursing and Midwifery in 2011. She began her career in women’s health as a Registered Midwife, supporting women throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, while also undertaking further studies in Child, Family and Community Health Nursing.

For the past eight years, Roxi has specialised in urology with Coloplast and is currently the dedicated Men’s Health Nurse Specialist for Victoria. She provides comprehensive education, care and support for men experiencing erectile dysfunction and prostate cancer, guiding them through every stage of their treatment and surgical journey.

In addition to her clinical role, Roxi serves as Senior Territory Manager in Victoria, combining her healthcare expertise with experience in education, stakeholder engagement, marketing, product launches and event management.
